The QuickTime web browser plug-in is no longer installed by default and is removed if you have a previous version of QuickTime on your PC. If you still need this legacy plug-in, you can add it back using the custom setup option in the installer.
QuickTime 7 is for use with Windows Vista or Windows 7. If installed on other versions of Windows, it may not offer full functionality.

QuickTime Player, from Apple, allows the playback of QuickTime movie files (.mov) and lots of other file formats including, audio, still images, graphics, and virtual reality (VR) movies.
The new QuickTime Player not only delivers crisp quality, but the app is easy to use with a simple interface. No set up is required for QuickTime Player for network streaming content. Instead, QuickTime Player automatically determines what the connection speed of your system is and then chooses the highest possible quality stream for the amount of bandwidth that you have available.
QuickTime Player is automatically configured to resume playback, if for some reason you ever lose a connection whilst watching streaming video.

QuickTime Player 7 supports older media formats, such as QTVR, interactive QuickTime movies, and MIDI files on Snow Leopard and OS X Lion. It also accepts QuickTime 7 Pro registration codes, which turn on QuickTime Pro functions.
QuickTime Player 7 will be installed in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
